DCM Investment Analyst Becomes CFA Charterholder

October 18, 2021

Dean Capital Management LLC (“DCM”) is happy to announce that Jason E. Solomon, investment analyst, has passed the CFA Level 3 exam, which he sat for in May 2021. With the passing of this test, and membership acceptance into the CFA Society of Kansas City, Jason has officially become a CFA Charterholder.

“Becoming a charterholder is a defining moment for many investment professionals and exemplifies a strong understanding of advanced investment analysis and real-world portfolio management skills. Widely considered the apex for professional development in investment management, the CFA designation is valued by employers for roles and functions in every sector of the global finance industry, including portfolio management, analysis, private wealth, and consulting.”  – www.cfainstitute.org

The CFA program consists of three tests, or ‘levels’, that must be taken and passed in succession, while meeting minimum work hour requirements, in order to achieve the CFA Charterholder designation. Material covered on the tests includes accounting, economics, fundamental valuation, and derivatives, amongst other topic areas. This designation is the culmination of three years, and over 1,500 hours, of studying, on top of day-to-day responsibilities of providing investment research to the firm. The team at DCM is proud of Jason’s work ethic displayed in achieving this landmark designation and looks forward to continued contributions from him.

Jason E. Solomon was hired in July 2019 to provide industry and security analysis to the firm’s U.S. value equity strategies. He joined DCM after two years as a generalist analyst in Stephens Inc.’s investment banking department. Jason is a graduate of the University of Alabama (2017), where he majored in both Finance and Economics.
